HSBC Holdings Plc will nearly bisect its branches network in india to 26 branches from 50 branches and it will focus on retail banking through digital channels, the lender said on Thursday. This change shows there are changes in customer behaviour, who are using digital channels for their banking, HSBC said in an statement. The branches which are closed their operations less than 10% of its Indian customers, the bank said. Stuart Milne (Group general manager and chief executive officer) HSBC India said this move focus our RBWM (Retail Banking And Wealth Management) business in future with the digital v/s physical branch distribution. As the Customer expectations are ever changing frequently we are adapting accordingly. HSBC said it would soon announce an expansion plan to regale to its high profile clients and further technology deployments for the benefit of its retail customers.
