Krittika Jyotsna Mishra a girl from Hyderabad bagged the 30th rank and topped the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam, 2013, in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Joining Civil services was her aim even from her childhood. However, she started preparing for services after finishing her Post Graduation. Krittika says, “It is a challenging job but she will work with complete dedication and determination”

Educational Background

Krittika Jyotsna was raised in Hyderabad. She completed her schooling from Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. She did Bachelors in Mathematics from Miranda House (Delhi University) and also completed her Post Graduation in Mathematics from Delhi University.

Family Background

Kritika has got administrative background from her home itself.Her mother; Nirupama Mishra is a UPPSC (Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission) officer with the Aligarh Municipal Corporation. Her brother Kartikeya Mishra is an IAS officer and is presently Chairman and Managing Director of North Zone, APCPDCL.

Preparation strategy:-

Krittika succed in her second attempt till final interview stage but could not get selected. She was unwell that time so she was not demoralised. Since she thought this was her last attempt she decided to give it best shot. “But never expected to get such a good rank,” she exclaimed.

She took guidance of Mr.Gopal Krishna Sir at Brain Tree Academy.

However, it was not all work and no play for the 28-year-old, who one day hopes to work with women and children as a civil servant. A voracious reader, she finished quite a few novels including Jhumpa Lahiri’s The Lowland and a couple of Khaled Hosseini’s books, while she was preparing for the civils. “I also embroidered clothes for my new-born nephew in my spare time. It was a great stress buster,” she laughs.
